The advent of airborne connectivity technology has enabled the development of low-cost decision support tools that improve operating efficiency. Quantifying the benefit of new cost-saving technologies for a fleet of aircraft is a fundamental challenge in proving the value for a business case. Rather than costly flight trials, GE proposes a Monte Carlo simulation using physics-derived models against a standard baseline.
