A dual use of car-born radars is demonstrated. The information of the radar signal has been examined and a method of road condition measurements has been found. Theoretical aspects have been analysed. In a series of measurements, the data has been investigated, following these aspects. Results of this investigation are demonstrated. These results validate the expectation, that road condition monitoring with microwaves is a valid method for potential safety improvements.
