In this paper we present experimental methods for the investigation of beam fanning and two-wave-mixing in a SBN crystal. We analyze the electrooptical coefficients of the crystal, the temporal characteristics of beam amplification, and the fanning formation in dependence on polarization and intensity of the beams, and on the external electric field. Light power and wavelength of the incident laser beam were correspondingly 3 mW and 633 nm.
