Quantum key distribution (QKD) is a new technique using physics laws for securing key exchanges. Here we report a new phase-encoding technique adapted to free-space communications. The method combines a direct-modulation scheme with a WDM synchronisation allowing to achieve a reduced size and stabilized system.
