A new technique that can realize single passband microwave photonic filter is presented. It is based on the use of a multi-channel chirped fiber Bragg grating which sets the dispersion values on the individual spectrum slices without affecting the basic system time delay, and which controls the RF fading curve so that the notch frequencies fall on the harmonic passbands. Experimental results demonstrate a 19-tap FIR filter having a single bandpass response, and having over 30dB suppression of harmonic passbands.
