The instability of the physical structure (supply) and passenger flow (demand) of the urban rail transit network makes the line train diagram need to be constantly adjusted, which will affect the overall operation of the urban rail network, especially at the transfer node. In order to evaluate the impact of the line train diagram’s adjustment on the overall operation from the network level rather than a single line, a comprehensive evaluation method for the network train operation was presented. Taking the transfer station as the research object, the lines’ capacity coordination degree, connection success rate of last trains, network reachable rate at different time period and other indicators are constructed from the two aspects of the transfer station capacity and the train connection coordination. Based on the network passenger flow data and the realized train timetable, these indicators evaluate the operation state of the overall network when the line train diagram is adjusted. An Initial case study on Shanghai Metro network shows that this method can provide theoretical support for optimizing the train operation map from the network level.
