The major sources of global carbon emissions include the transportation, industrial, power and construction sectors, with energy consumption being the largest source of anthropogenic GHG emissions, accounting for more than 70%. Within the transportation sector, land transportation accounts for about three-quarters of the total carbon emissions in the transportation sector, so encouraging the public to replace their gasoline vehicles with electric vehicles is a positive solution to reduce carbon emissions.
