We introduce a novel approach of generating highly reproducible, broadly tunable, ultrashort laser pulses using a very simple and inexpensive concept. Up to 10-W of average power can be routinely generated with energies up to 10 /spl mu/J per pulse and tunability from mid-IR to UV.
