Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with index modulation (OFDM-IM) can provide a good performance with a diversity technique. However, the performance improve- ment depends on the correlation of the frequency-domain channel coefficients, which is usually high if the number of paths is limited. In this paper, in order to see the impact of interleaving on the performance with a diversity technique, we derive a closed- form expression for the pairwise error probability (PEP). From simulation results, we can confirm that the theoretical results agree with them and help understand the role of interleaving in conjunction with a diversity technique.
