We have demonstrated a pulsed fiber optical parametric amplifier with gain in excess of 20 dB over a record 360 nm bandwidth, using a pump with 16 W peak power in a 30 m long highly-nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber. The bandwidth was measured by signal amplification, as well as by monitoring amplified spontaneous emission.
