A self-starting laser based on diode-pumped Nd:YAG crystal with cavity completed by dynamic holographic grating without any nonreciprocal elements was realized for the first time. The oscillation conditions were examined both experimentally and theoretically. A possibility of single-mode generation with good beam quality was studied.
