This paper explores the optimal operation of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) which seen them as demand side resources and providing ancillary services. The mechanisms of PEVs' ancillary services were analyzed and the mathematical model of the system operation was established. In order to solve the complicated black box optimization model, the Space Exploration and Unimodal Region Elimination (SEURE) method was used. Simulation results on the modified IEEE 37 node test system show that the proposed method is effective.
