We present the results of our experiment in efficient amplification of broadband, stretched femtosecond pulses at 400 nm using BaB/sub 2/O/sub 4/ crystal noncollinear optical parametric amplification (NOPA UV). The effect of various parameters on the spectral gain are also investigated.
