Summary form only given. Quasi-phase matching (QPM) has been extensively researched for nonlinear interactions. We find from numerical calculations that the local phase-mismatch can significantly affect the second harmonic generation (SHG), especially in situations involving high-power femtosecond pulses where the number of domain periods is limited by group-velocity mismatch (GVM).
