We are interested in studying and optimizing vehicular traffic routing in urban road topologies. To this end, we aim at developing queueing models that represent the behavior of vehicles travelling over road segments or intersections. As the first step in this study, we consider a realistic scenario and assess the conditions under which a memory-less distribution may accurately represent vehicle arrivals at, and departures from, sections of the road topology.
