People have used magnetic compass and celestial bodies to determine position and orientation. Global positioning systems which emerged as a result of developments in electronic and space systems have been presented to the service of people with high accuracy in a short time span. In this study, the general architecture and usage areas of global satellite positioning systems are examined. Some commercial jammer types and their signal structures are examined and compared with each other. Anti-jamming solutions are discussed topic of antenna and receiver. After definition of spoofing, spoofing detection and mitigation methods are mentioned. The effects of the battlefield conditions and electronic warfare systems on the current architectures are examined for civil and military aviation applications.
