Traffic signals are perpetually necessary for smooth movement of vehicles on the road. However, the current traffic signal durations are fixed. This fixed duration of signal timings result in traffic congestion. This paper proposed a Dynamic Traffic Light Scheduling (DTLS) algorithm that was enforced for a four-way intersection point. Vehicles are detected using the YOLO algorithm. The proposed heuristic considers not only the density at the junction but also the waiting time of vehicles. The simulation result shows that the DTLS algorithm avoids congestion and decreases average waiting time compared to the existing traffic system.
