In this paper, we propose a method to solve the optimization (SCA) by using a sine cosine algorithm to remove the selected harmonics in a cascaded H-bridge (CHB) multi-level inverter. This method is used in high-voltage and high-power applications to easily reduce device switching loss and stress. Objective of this work to find optimal angles which suppresses the lower order harmonics and fundamental value of output voltage is constant regardless of change in input voltage. This proposed method SCA searches an optimal angle for a 7-Level inverter. This method will provide a better solution compression with PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization). So to present the effectiveness of SCA both the results have been compared with each other. Simulation results present that the SCA is the most accurate and lesser iteration technique for optimization of switching angles in staircase modulation.
