The paper has outlined two novel applications of time-wavelength mapping techniques in analog-to-digital conversion. The general approach is to increase the performance of an electronic digitizer by optical signal reprocessing. Presently, the time-stretch technique appears to be the most promising in enabling ultra wideband analog-to-digital conversion with moderate resolutions.
