In this paper, the calibration method of optical gyro strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) is studied in theory. An inertial sensor error parameters calibration model based on the navigation errors is established, and the relationships between navigation errors and inertial sensor error parameters are analyzed. On the basis of this, a high-accuracy calibration method of optical gyro SINS is proposed. Considering all kinds of factors, this method designs a sequence of reasonable calibration scheme in order to excite all error parameters. Thus, all error parameters can be estimated using velocity information of the system. The theoretical analysis and experiments results show that the new method can calibrate all error parameters with a high degree of accuracy using a simple low-cost and low-accuracy equipment, so is more suitable for practical application.
