Fixed-in variable-out wavelength conversions using a cascaded /spl chi//sup (2)/ based quasiphase matching (QPM) LiNbO/sub 3/ waveguide have been proposed and demonstrated for the first time. All-optical demultiplexing from 40 GHz to 10 GHz using LiNbO/sub 3/ quasiphase-matched wavelength converters has also been demonstrated.
