In this paper, we propose a method for the optimization of distributed generation (DG) through power flow studies. A variety of reasons (e.g., greenhouse gas emissions, the depletion of fossil fuels, or the environmental impact of nuclear power) increase the need for DG. So, the analysis of the location and capacity of DG has become necessary and its optimization is required. For the optimization of DG, we initially implement a Newton-Raphson algorithm using MATLAB. An optimization method of power flow interpreted by the Newton-Raphson algorithm is presented.
