We present our studies of nonlinear refractive indices of various nonlinear crystals (KDP, LiNBO/sub 3/, BBO, and KTP) in IR and visible ranges. The experimental results were analysed in a framework of Gaussian decomposition, paraxial approximation and numerical methods.
