This paper proposes a literature review on Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) for forecasting user flows on road and transit networks. Besides the literature review, a discussion about the potentialities and the limits of this non-parametric approach are discussed. The paper identifies some research field that are still open and deserve further studies.
