Ceramics YAG is the new generation of solid state laser material. It is a transparent polycrystalline state without any pore and bubbles. This is one of the achievement of modern ceramic technologies. Recent progress of ceramic laser research works is shown. The ceramic laser research was done by Japanese scientists. The basic properties on absorption, emission, and optical transparency were measured. The optical quality was measured to be the same level to the single crystal material. The optical homogeneity is better. The laser performance is also comparable or better.
