Presents a decision support system (DSS) generator for transportation demand forecasting, implemented by constraint logic programming (CLP). The computational mechanism is based on ontological modelling and extensions of the generic constraint solver of the CLP system to handle network flow and computational geometry problems. The purpose of our research is to develop a modelling framework for doing sketch planning to assist transportation policy and investment decisions. The framework is are more flexible than today's current suite of models and is capable of being used interactively and intuitively by managers without the help of a traffic modelling practitioner.
