For deriving the inductance profile of SynRM, different parameter testing are used. Each method creates different inductance profiles, which may be different from the estimated design values by about 10% to 30%. This may result in change of operating quantities of SynRM like voltage and current by some percentage while satisfying a definite speed and torque demand. With this concept, a novel analysis is proposed in this paper which discusses the use of different inductance profiles obtained through different inductance measurement methods for a particular SynRM coupled to constant torque load. The importance of this analysis can be understood from the fact that usage of different inductance profiles in the control of SynRM driving constant torque load while being subjected to different voltage dip magnitudes of about 10% to 15% when SynRM is connected to weak grid. This analysis of using different inductance values, which is different from actual designed values by 10% to 30% obtained from various tests, will estimate which would be the closest to the actual values so that one can arrive at realistic and accurate estimates of currents, voltage dip margins etc. for various operating conditions.
