Integrated Modular Avionics is widely used in modern civil aircraft. As a public resource platform, IMA doesn't have independent aircraft functions. So the function failures are not determined, and this will result in IMA system's safety assessment difficult to be developed. This paper gives an integral bottom-top approach based on the IMA components to perform the safety analysis: through selecting the IMA components, we analyze the comprehensive their failure effects and demonstrate the compliance to related airworthiness regulations.
