Partially transparent devices and methods that reduce actual and/or perceived glare by incorporating absorbing materials are described. Actual and/or perceived glare can be reduced by multi-path absorption in the device. Perceived glare is further reduced by accounting for the psychophysics of human visual perception as a function of wavelength, orientation, and field illuminance.

    L'invention concerne des dispositifs partiellement transparents et des procédés qui réduisent l'éblouissement réel et/ou perçu par incorporation de matériaux absorbants. L'éblouissement réel et/ou perçu peut être réduit par absorption multi-trajet dans le dispositif. L'éblouissement perçu est en outre réduit en tenant compte de la psychophysique de la perception visuelle humaine en fonction de la longueur d'onde, de l'orientation et de l'éclairement de champ.
