An aircraft is provided including an airframe, an extending tail, and a counter rotating, coaxial main rotor assembly including an upper rotor assembly and a lower rotor assembly. A translational thrust system positioned at the extending tail, the translational thrust system providing translational thrust to the airframe. The main rotor assembly and the translational thrust system are configured to provide hover nose down, hover nose up and hover level modes of flight.

    L'invention concerne un aéronef comprenant une cellule, une section arrière en extension et un ensemble rotor principal coaxial contrarotatif comprenant un ensemble rotor supérieur et un ensemble rotor inférieur. Un système de poussée de translation est positionné au niveau de la section arrière en extension, le système de poussée de translation fournissant une poussée de translation à la cellule. L'ensemble rotor principal et le système de poussée de translation sont configurés pour fournir les modes de vol suivants: un vol stationnaire à fuselage avant vers le bas, un vol stationnaire à fuselage avant vers le haut et un vol stationnaire à niveau.
