Provided are a system and method for estimating a track curvature for active steering control of railcars which are configured to estimate a front-back-direction relative angle between a front bogie and a rear bogie of a lead car from a relative displacement measured by displacement sensors, which are installed on the front and rear bogies of two cars to measure a displacement between the front and rear bogies, calculate an estimated value of a track curvature radius R using an equationR=2⁢LxΔ,calculate a travel distance of the lead car on the basis of speed data measured by a speed sensor, which measures a travel speed of the lead car, to specify the location of a following car in accordance with a car length, and then map the estimated track curvature radius value data to the following car location to transmit estimated track curvature radius value data to an active steering control unit of the following car.
