The temperature-control system includes a battery housing which has an evaporation device for evaporating the heat transfer medium and which forms a closed interior with at least one receiving position for a battery cell. A lower region of the battery housing is designed to receive the heat transfer medium. A collecting container receives the heat transfer medium. A heat transfer device has a condenser for cooling the heat transfer medium. A pump conveys the heat transfer medium. An electronic control and/or regulating unit receives a temperature of the heat transfer medium and/or the temperature of the battery cell, and/or the current strength of the battery cell and/or the wet steam content at the fluid drain of the battery housing. According to at least one manipulated variable of the temperature control system, the system controls and/or regulates the temperature of the at least one battery cell and/or the wet steam content at the fluid drain of the battery housing.
