A brake system includes a master cylinder generating hydraulic pressure for actuating first and second pairs of brakes. A first bypass type valve is hydraulically interposed between the master cylinder and the first pair of brakes. A first front check valve restricts fluid flow within a first front brake line from the front brake of the first pair of brakes. A first rear check valve restricts fluid flow within a first rear brake line from the rear brake of the first pair of brakes. A second bypass type valve is hydraulically interposed between the master cylinder and the second pair of brakes. A second front check valve restricts fluid flow within a second front brake line from the front brake of the second pair of brakes. A second rear check valve restricts fluid flow within a second rear brake line from the rear brake of the second pair of brakes.
