A bicycle handlebar stem assembly includes a connecting base having a tightening portion sleeved on a front fork stem and a pivot portion connected to the tightening portion, a handlebar base pivoted to the pivot portion and having an opening, a handlebar hole communicating with the opening for penetration of a handlebar, and an accommodation space communicating with the opening, an elastic member disposed in the accommodation space and contacting with the connecting base and the handlebar base, and an adjustment component having one end pressing the elastic member to adjust the pre-pressure state of the elastic member, and the other end with an axial direction staggered from the handlebar and passing through the opening. Thus, a rider can adjust the adjustment component to change the pressing force applied to the elastic member without removing the handlebar, thereby achieving different shock-absorbing effects.
