A division line recognition apparatus including: a microprocessor and a memory coupled to the microprocessor; and an in-vehicle detection unit irradiating a surrounding of a subject vehicle with an electromagnetic wave to detect an exterior environment situation in the surrounding. The microprocessor is configured to perform recognizing information indicating a division line in a first area separated from the subject vehicle on a road by a predetermined distance based on information detected by the in-vehicle detection unit at different positions on the road while the subject vehicle is traveling on the road; and mapping the information indicating the division line recognized in the recognizing, based on a traveling direction and a driving speed of the subject vehicle.
