Conflicts and collisions between right-turning vehicles and pedestrians are a common problem in the field of traffic engineering. The present invention provides a visual indication that a pedestrian intends to cross as well as a wireless Infrastructure-to-Vehicle (I2V) message transmitted to nearby connected vehicles warning of the pedestrian's intent. Some embodiments may include a second visual indication and I2V message at the beginning of the Walk interval to warn drivers that a pedestrian is entering the crossing. The visual indication can include a lighted dynamic sign and/or light fixture configured to draw the attention of a driver of a vehicle
