The analysis can consider not only planned trips, or trips currently being planned, but also trips currently in progress as well as anticipated trips based on historical demand. The probability of various requests occurring can be used, along with anticipated capacity needs and trip parameters, to generate a set of proactive ride requests, which can be submitted with actual ride requests to attempt to optimize the placement of vehicles for future demand.
