An electric booster and master brake cylinder assembly includes a hydraulic master cylinder, a plunger, a brake pedal push rod, and a transmission. The hydraulic master cylinder includes a primary piston that is slidably positioned in a piston bore of a master cylinder housing. The plunger is plunger disposed within a hollow end portion of the primary piston. The brake pedal push rod has an enlarged actuation end slidably disposed within a plunger cavity and engages a control spring disposed therein. The brake pedal push rod is arranged to apply a brake input force to the primary piston. The transmission is arranged to apply a motor assist force to the hollow end portion that is overlaid with the brake input force.
