A fuel cell system for a vehicle comprises at least one fuel cell, at least one fuel cell heat exchanger arranged in or at the at least one fuel cell for receiving heat of the at least one fuel cell, at least one thermal dissipation unit, at least one additional heat exchanger and a cooling loop having a plurality of fluid line segments for conveying a coolant. The at least one fuel cell heat exchanger is coupled with the at least one thermal dissipation unit through the cooling loop, and the additional heat exchanger is arranged in the cooling loop and is adapted for receiving heat from an external source and for raising the temperature of a coolant flowing in the cooling loop.
