The invention provides a vehicular camera and a vehicular camera assembly. In the vehicular camera, a light receiving area of an optical detector is set to receive light which is incident to the lightreceiving area through a lens, and furthermore the light receiving area of the optical detector is set in a manner that a preset part of the light receiving area is fixed along an inclination direction of an inner surface of a windshield. A housing supports the lens and accomodates a light detector in a manner than the lens faces the inner surface of the windshield, and furthermore the optical axis of the lens is crossed with the inner surface of the windshield according to an angle in a preset angle range which includes a right angle. The focal length of the lens is set in a range which is represented by the following formula: (V/11.43)<=F<=(v/2.48), wherein f represents the focal length, and furthermore V represents one half of length of a preset part which is fixed along the inclination direction of the inner surface of the windshield in the light receiving area measured according to millimeters.
