According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for controlling cooling of a powertrain component predicts a high load condition prediction time point of the powertrain component through predicted driving information of a vehicle when a destination is inputted to a navigation, and controls operation of each component of a powertrain cooling system at a precooling start time point when a temperature difference between an actual measurement temperature of the powertrain component and a reference temperature at a time point earlier than the high load condition prediction time point is less than or equal to a precooling operation value to perform precooling of the powertrain component until the actual measurement temperature of the powertrain component reaches a target temperature.

    본 발명의 실시예에 따른 파워트레인컴포넌트의 냉각제어방법은, 목적지가 네비게이션에 입력되면 차량의 예상 주행정보를 통해 파워트레인컴포넌트의 고부하조건 예상시점을 예측하고, 상기 고부하조건 예상시점 보다 앞선 시점에 상기 파워트레인컴포넌트의 실측온도 및 기준온도 사이의 온도차이가 사전냉각 작동값 이하이면 사전냉각 시작시점에서 파워트레인냉각시스템의 각 컴포넌트의 작동을 제어함으로써 상기 파워트레인컴포넌트의 실측온도가 목표온도에 도달할 때까지 상기 파워트레인컴포넌트의 사전냉각을 실시할 수 있다.
