The present invention relates to an indirect tire pressure monitoring apparatus and a method thereof. The indirect tire pressure monitoring apparatus comprises: a wheel speed sensor provided at each wheel to detect a wheel speed; and a control unit electrically connected to the wheel speed sensor. The control unit determines a decompression determination index according to the wheel speed detected by the wheel speed sensor and determines a turning compensation amount for turning compensation of the decompression determination index. The control unit compensates the decompression determination index based on the turning compensation amount and determines whether a tire is decompressed based on the compensated decompression determination index. Provided are the indirect tire pressure monitoring apparatus, which can improve accuracy of tire decompression determination, and the method thereof.
