The present invention relates to a hybrid Electric Vehicle, which is able to, in a situation where the catalyst heating in an engine is not completed, reduce the emission of exhaust gas and correspond to a required torque, and a driving control method for the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the driving control method for the hybrid electric vehicle comprises: a step of, when the hybrid electric vehicle is driving in a first mode using an electric motor as a driving source, starting controlling the catalyst heating of an engine if there is a request for catalyst heating and if a required torque exceeds a first reference; and a step of starting controlling the acceleration sensation increase if the required torque exceeds a second reference which is greater than the first reference. The second reference can be set to be between a third reference, which is a reference for entering the second mode using the engine as a driving source, and the first reference.

    본 발명은 엔진의 촉매 가열이 완료되지 않은 상황에서 배기가스 배출을 저감하면서 요구 토크에 대응할 수 있는 하이브리드 자동차 및 그를 위한 주행 제어 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 하이브리드 자동차의 주행 제어 방법은, 전기 모터를 구동원으로 사용하는 제1 모드로 주행 중, 촉매가열 요청이 있으며 요구 토크가 제1 기준을 넘으면 엔진의 촉매가열 제어에 진입하는 단계; 및 상기 요구 토크가 상기 제1 기준보다 큰 제2 기준을 넘으면 가속감 상승 제어에 진입하는 단계를 포함하되, 상기 제2 기준은, 상기 엔진을 구동원으로 사용하는 제2 모드의 진입 기준이 되는 제3 기준과 상기 제1 기준 사이에 설정될 수 있다.
