Disclosed is an extinguishing system for a vehicle battery to detect a fire occurring in a vehicle battery quickly and accurately and effectively extinguishing the fire immediately upon detection. According to the present invention, the extinguishing system for a vehicle battery comprises: a gas discharge unit installed in a battery pack to release gas inside the battery pack; a gas passage unit provided to allow the gas generated from the battery pack and discharged through the gas discharge unit to flow in the event of a fire; a catalytic converter installed in the gas passage unit to convert carbon monoxide in the gas flowing along the gas passage unit into carbon dioxide; an extinguishing agent tank in which an extinguishing agent is stored and connected to the gas passage part so that carbon dioxide converted by the catalytic converter can be introduced; and an extinguishing agent supply passage unit connected between the extinguishing agent tank and the battery pack. Accordingly, by a pressure inside the extinguishing agent tank, which is increased while the gas passed through the catalytic converter is injected into the extinguishing agent tank, the introduced gas and the stored extinguishing agent are supplied from the extinguishing agent tank to the battery pack through the extinguishing agent supply passage unit, thereby extinguishing the fire.

    배터리 팩에 설치되어 배터리 팩 내부의 가스를 방출시킬 수 있도록 구비된 가스방출부; 화재 발생시 배터리 팩에서 발생하여 가스방출부를 통해 배출된 가스가 흐르도록 구비된 가스통로부; 상기 가스통로부에 설치되어 가스통로부를 따라 흐르는 가스 중 일산화탄소를 이산화탄소로 변환하는 촉매변환기; 소화약제가 저장되고 상기 가스통로부가 연결되어 상기 촉매변환기에 의해 변환된 이산화탄소가 투입될 수 있도록 구비된 소화약제 탱크; 및 상기 소화약제 탱크와 배터리 팩 사이에 연결된 소화약제 공급통로부를 포함하고, 상기 촉매변환기를 통과한 가스가 소화약제 탱크 내부에 투입되는 동안 상승한 소화약제 탱크 내 압력에 의해, 상기 투입된 가스와 상기 저장된 소화약제가 소화약제 탱크로부터 소화약제 공급통로부를 통해 배터리 팩에 공급되어 화재를 진압하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 차량의 배터리 화재 진압 장치가 개시된다.
