The present invention relates to a charging method of a plurality of battery packs connected in parallel, and a battery system providing the method. The battery system of the present invention charges a plurality of battery packs connected in parallel with power of a charger and comprises: a battery containing a battery module which includes a plurality of battery cells, and a plurality of battery packs which contain a voltage sensor measuring a pack voltage, both end voltages of the battery module; and a master BMS which uses a lowest pack voltage value among a plurality of pack voltages, and a reference voltage value to set a plurality of voltage sections, classifies each of the plurality of battery packs into a voltage section included among the plurality of voltage sections to divide the plurality of battery packs into a plurality of charging groups, and controls the charging of a battery pack included in the plurality of charging groups in an ascending order of charging groups with low voltage ranges of the voltage section to high voltage ranges of the voltage section. According to the present invention, a plurality of battery packs can be charged without damage to a plurality of pack switches.

    본 발명은, 병렬 연결된 복수의 배터리 팩의 충전 방법 및 그 방법을 제공하는 배터리 시스템에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 배터리 시스템은, 충전기의 전력으로 병렬 연결된 복수의 배터리 팩을 충전하는 배터리 시스템으로서, 복수의 배터리 셀을 포함하는 배터리 모듈과, 상기 배터리 모듈의 양단 전압인 팩 전압을 측정하는 전압센서를 포함하는 배터리 팩을 복수 개 포함하는 배터리, 그리고 복수의 팩 전압 중 최저 팩 전압값 및 기준 전압값을 이용하여 복수의 전압구간을 설정하고, 상기 복수의 배터리 팩 각각을 상기 복수의 전압구간 중 속하는 전압구간으로 분류하여 상기 복수의 배터리 팩을 복수의 충전그룹으로 구분 하며, 전압구간의 전압범위가 낮은 충전그룹부터 전압구간의 전압범위가 높은 충전그룹 순서로 복수의 충전그룹에 속하는 배터리 팩의 충전을 제어하는 마스터 BMS를 포함한다.
