The present invention relates to a location sensing system through area setting and a method thereof. According to the present invention, a threshold value is calculated, through a radar, by calculating a movement tendency of a seat, the movement tendency of a vehicle interior interest area excluding the seat, a movement tendency of a reference area, and a movement tendency of a vehicle interior entire interest area. At this time, if the value measured by the radar exceeds the threshold value, it is sensed that there is a rear seat passenger. The location sensing method through the area setting of the present invention comprises: a vehicle interior seat movement tendency calculation step; a vehicle interior interest area, excluding a seat area, movement tendency calculation step; a reference area movement tendency calculation step; a vehicle interior entire interest area movement tendency calculation step; a threshold value calculation step; and a sensing step.

    본 발명은 레이더를 통하여, 좌석의 움직임 경향성, 좌석을 제외한 차량 내부 관심영역의 움직임 경향성, 참조 영역의 움직임 경향성 및 차량 내부 전체 관심영역의 움직임 경향성을 계산하여 문턱값을 산출하고, 레이더에 측정된 값이 문턱값을 초과하면 후석승객이 있는 것으로 감지하는 것을 특징으로 하는 영역설정을 통한 위치 감지 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
