The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for improving vehicle turning performance, wherein an electric motor is controlled to additionally generate braking force corresponding to a difference between a required driving force from a driver and a driving force limit that can be applied to a rotating driving wheel, and therefore wheel slip and understeering caused by application of driving force over the driving force limit to the driving wheel are prevented. The apparatus for improving vehicle turning performance comprises a turning characteristics detection module, a driving force estimation module, and a turning characteristics control module.

    본 발명은, 운전자의 요구 구동력과 선회운동 중인 구동륜에 작용할 수 있는 한계 구동력의 차이에 상응하는 제동력을 전동모터에서 추가적으로 생성하도록 제어함으로써, 한계 구동력 이상의 구동력이 구동륜에 인가되어 휠슬립을 초래하고 언더스티어 상태에 빠지게 되는 것을 선제적으로 방지할 수 있게 한 차량의 선회 성능 향상 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
