Disclosed are start control system and method for a fuel cell, to increase fuel efficiency. According to the present invention, the start control system comprises: a fuel cell receiving air and fuel to generate electricity; an air supply system supplying the air to a cathode of the fuel cell through an air supply line; a fuel supply system supplying the fuel to an anode of the fuel cell through a fuel supply line recirculating and supplying the fuel discharged from an anode outlet of the fuel cell to an anode inlet; an air controller controlling the air supply system so that the air introduced into the air supply line bypasses the cathode of the fuel cell when a start-on signal is input; and a fuel controller supplying new fuel to the fuel supply line when the start-on signal is input, and controlling the fuel supply system to purge the fuel in the fuel supply line while the air in the air supply line bypasses the cathode of the fuel cell.

    공기 및 연료를 공급받아 전력을 발전하는 연료전지; 공기공급라인을 통해 연료전지의 공기극에 공기를 공급하는 공기공급계; 연료전지의 연료극 출구에서 배출된 연료를 연료극 입구로 재순환하여 공급하는 연료공급라인을 통해 연료전지의 연료극으로 연료를 공급하는 연료공급계; 시동 On 신호 입력시 공기공급라인으로 유입되는 공기가 연료전지의 공기극을 바이패스하도록 공기공급계를 제어하는 공기제어기; 및 시동 On 신호 입력시 연료공급라인으로 새로운 연료를 공급하고, 공기공급라인의 공기가 연료전지의 공기극을 바이패스하는 상태에서 연료공급라인의 연료를 퍼지하도록 연료공급계를 제어하는 연료제어기;를 포함하는 연료전지의 시동 제어 시스템 및 방법이 소개된다.
