A battery management system, according to the present invention, comprises: a sensing part generating a sensing signal representing a battery voltage and a battery current of a battery; a memory part configured to store a charging map in which a correspondence relationship between first to n^th reference SOC ranges, first to n^th reference currents, and first to n^th reference voltages for multi-stage constant current charging is recorded; and a control part. During constant current charging using a k^th reference current corresponding to a k^th reference SOC range to which the SOC of the battery belongs, the control part switches the constant current charging to constant voltage charging using the k^th reference voltage in response to the battery voltage reaching the k^th reference voltage corresponding to the k^th reference SOC range. During the constant voltage charging, the control part updates the k^th reference current of the charging map based on a current history of the battery current over a charging period of the constant voltage charging in response to the SOC of the battery reaching the upper limit value of the k^th reference SOC range.

    본 발명에 따른 배터리 관리 시스템은, 배터리의 배터리 전압 및 배터리 전류를 나타내는 센싱 신호를 생성하는 센싱부; 다단 정전류 충전을 위한 제1 내지 제n 기준 SOC 범위, 제1 내지 제n 기준 전류 및 제1 내지 제n 기준 전압 간의 대응 관계가 기록된 충전 맵을 저장하는 메모리부; 및 제어부를 포함한다. 상기 제어부는, 상기 배터리의 SOC가 속하는 제k 기준 SOC 범위에 대응하는 제k 기준 전류를 이용한 정전류 충전 중, 상기 배터리 전압이 상기 제k 기준 SOC 범위에 대응하는 제k 기준 전압에 도달한 것에 응답하여, 상기 제k 기준 전압을 이용한 정전압 충전으로 전환한다. 상기 제어부는, 상기 정전압 충전 중, 상기 배터리의 SOC가 상기 제k 기준 SOC 범위의 상기 상한값에 도달한 것에 응답하여, 상기 정전압 충전의 충전 기간에 걸친 상기 배터리 전류의 전류 이력을 기초로, 상기 충전 맵의 상기 제k 기준 전류를 업데이트한다.
