The present invention relates to an apparatus for managing a battery of a vehicle and a method thereof, and the objective of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for managing a battery of a vehicle, which estimates a temperature value of a temperature sensor in which a failure (for example, disconnection) has occurred by using big data when the failure occurs in any temperature sensor among a plurality of temperature sensors provided in the battery of a vehicle and manages discharge of the battery on the basis of the estimated temperature value and temperature values of the remaining temperature sensors, thereby preventing deterioration of the battery from accelerating, and a method thereof. To this end, the apparatus comprises: a battery provided in a vehicle; a plurality of temperature sensors mounted at different positions of the battery; and a control unit estimating a temperature value of a temperature sensor in which a failure occurs by using big data when the failure occurs in any temperature sensor and controlling discharge of the battery based on the estimated temperature value.

    본 발명은 차량의 배터리 관리 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 차량의 배터리에 구비된 복수의 온도센서 중 임의의 온도센서에 고장이 발생한 경우, 빅데이터를 활용하여 상기 고장(일례로, 단선)이 발생한 온도센서의 온도값을 추정하고, 상기 추정한 온도값과 나머지 온도센서의 온도값에 기초하여 배터리의 방전을 관리함으로써, 배터리의 열화가 가속되는 것을 방지할 수 있는 차량의 배터리 관리 장치 및 그 방법을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위하여, 본 발명은 차량에 구비된 배터리; 상기 배터리의 서로 다른 위치에 장착되는 복수의 온도센서; 및 임의의 온도센서에 고장이 발생한 경우, 빅데이터를 활용하여 상기 고장이 발생한 온도센서의 온도값을 추정하고, 상기 추정한 온도값에 기초하여 배터리의 방전을 제어하는 제어부를 포함할 수 있다.
